Kevin Laidler
General Counsel

Former Lake Orion Village Councilman Kevin Laidler returns to his roots in Lake Orion after a fifteen-year hiatus where he represented a diverse clientele from offices in Pontiac and Dearborn. For over a decade, Attorney Laidler has provided high-end legal research and analysis for a number of prominent local attorneys in complex litigation, both criminal and civil, using the skills earned as a former Michigan Court of Appeals Prehearing Attorney. Most notably, Attorney Laidler was instrumental in the nationally recognized case People v. Maynor, which abrogated the distinction between general and specific intent crimes in the state of Michigan. Additionally, he has brought his governmental experience and business background to bear for clients such as the City of Pontiac, Pontiac Housing Authority, Pontiac School Board, the Village of New Haven, and an array of private business clients and individuals.

As a former Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Account Executive and local restaurateur, Attorney Laidler uniquely understands the complex financial burdens faced by small businesses, as well as the potential opportunities. While an aggressive and seasoned litigator, Attorney Laidler understands that often the best solution for all parties is to fashion equitable solutions outside of the court process, and to prevent legal issues from arising through proactive efforts.

Attorney Laidler is the Managing Partner of Laidler & Zielinski PLLC. He graduated 11th in his class, Cum Laude, from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2000 from the accelerated two-year program, and was an associate editor of the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review. He enjoys competitive Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in his spare time; his wife Beth is a Paralegal and they have one daughter who is a graduate of Lake Orion High School.
